Good letters, statement - and explaining the low GPA will help, high test scores, proven passion/experiences ( volunteer, professional, conferences), and professional experience will help.

My overall GPA has dropped to 2.79 due to this spring quarter's grades. My GPA was at a comfortable 3.61 during my first quarter, and I initially thought I would maintain it around that range.

A 2.9 GPA will limit you in where you can realistically apply to college, but you'll still have plenty of viable options. At this point, you may have already begun the college application process or at least have a list of schools where you plan on applying.

Oct 31, 2016 · No. If the form allows you to enter 2.97, that’s what you enter. Daughter school makes it very clear for merit award that gpa’s will NOT be rounded. With a 2.97, you would not get a scholarship, with a 3.0 you would (depending on test scores). You can, however, raise that gpa to a 3.0+.

Recently I have been applying to several co-op jobs. In a few of them, I have been contacted by the employer and asked "Do you have a 3.0 GPA?". I respond honestly and say "no". Many of them seem to completely decline based on this alone, despite everything else I have on my resume.
