Jan 5, 2023 · Someone has set up a fake outlook email address and is pretending to be me. How can I get this account shut down? I got a notification from a bank that someone was trying to take out a $21k loan under my name and had used an outlook email as their contact info. The bank gave me the outlook email address that is being used.

Microsoft will never proactively reach out to you to provide unsolicited PC or technical support. If you receive a phone call claiming to be from Microsoft, or see a pop-up window on your PC with a fake warning message and a phone number to call and get your "issue" fixed, it's better to be safe and not click any links or provide any personal information.

Jul 15, 2025 · I have received 3 emails today thanking me for buying windows defender for $555.68 and was asked to contact Microsoft if I have questions. The number isn't Microsoft's number and I didn't buy anything. So far I see no charges to my bank or PayPal, but in PayPal I did find 4 fraudulent charges to ServicingSolutionsLLC, which I reported. This is a screenshot of the email.
